GET INVOLVED!
Join as a student
To be eligible to apply to our Summer Legal Fellowship Program, you must be a sophomore, junior, or senior attending a public high school in Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, Hayward, El Cerrito, or Richmond. The application process takes place in March through May of each year.
Students who attend Kennedy High School or DeAnza High School in Richmond are invited to participate in our Mock Trial Programs, which take place between August and February of each year.
To get involved in either program, please send an email to info@youthlawworks.org.
Get your students involved
If you work with students in the Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, Hayward, or West Contra Costa Unified School Districts, your students may be eligible for our Summer Legal Fellowship Program. If your students attend either Kennedy High School or DeAnza High School, you could encourage students to join the school's mock trial team and/or help with coaching. To find out more, please contact us at info@youthlawworks.org.
Host a summer youth intern in your office
Our participants are enthusiastic and hard-working, and have completed an interview and screening process. By hosting one (or more) of them in your office, you will receive extra help in your office while providing the student with professional work experience, employment skills, role models, inspiration for higher education, and exposure to law, government and/or community service.
Firms hosting our interns contribute $2500 to CYDL, while nonprofit organizations and government agencies may be able to host an intern for no cost.
